Trout Creek, Montana
Trout Creek, Montana was a successful logging, railroading and mining community of the late 1800s. In 1910, Jim Hylent built the Hylent Hotel on 40 acres that he had purchased and the town was moved downstream. In 1955-1956, Trout Creek experienced another boom with the construction of the Noxon Rapids Dam. Trout Creek has a historic background with a resort atmosphere, sitting on the shores of Noxon Rapids Reservoir (which is 35 miles long) and the foot of the Cabinet Mountains. Trout Creek is in Sanders County has over 90% public land for you to enjoy.
