Harrison, Idaho
This beautiful, small resort town is strategically located on the eastern shore of south Lake Coeur d'Alene at the mouth of the Coeur d'Alene River. An active resort town in the warm summer season, Harrison bustles with bicyclists, boaters, campers and RVers, and motorcyclists all coming to take in the beauty of the lake and small-town offerings. Once a landing for steamers, Harrison remains a destination for pleasure boaters seeking fun and adventure on the clear waters. Our historic and relaxing town is perfectly situated on the sunny shores of the lake between the St. Joe River and the Coeur d'Alene River with access to 12 lakes within a short distance ~ all by boat.
The Harrison Marina Trailhead provides easy access to the beautifully paved 72 mile long Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes right from the heart of town. Bicyclists, hikers, roller bladers and nature lovers have discovered the fantastic Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes for its incredible views of the lake, river and surrounding mountains and wetlands. Visitors enjoy frequent sightings of bald eagles, osprey, moose, elk and other indigenous flora and fawna. The smooth paved path is popular with outdoor enthusiasts from all around the world. When you plan to experience the entire length of the trail or just a day ride or skate, Harrison is an ideal spot to begin and end your trip. And after a long day on the trail, reward yourself with a rejuvinating swim at Harrison's beach.
