Ephrata, the county seat of Grant County, is located in the center of Washington State on Highway 28. Ephrata is 126 miles west of Spokane, 170 miles east of Seattle, and 90 miles northwest of Pasco. North of Ephrata is the natural tourist route to the mineral waters of Soap Lake, Banks Lake, Steamboat Rock State Park and Grand Coulee Dam. Southeast is the Grant County International Airport at Moses Lake, only 17 miles away on Highway 282. Southwest 25 miles is the Gorge at George, Washington. The terrain is desert and rolling hills, with elevation at 1,275 feet above sea level. Our average temperatures range from 32 degrees F in January to 90 degrees F in July.

April

Taste of the Basin

The annual Ephrata Chamber auction to raise funds for the Chamber and community projects such as the Christmas street decorations. 

June

Sage-n-Sun Festival

Second weekend of June. The largest community event in Ephrata.  There is a grand parade, live entertainment at the courthouse stage, a carnival, food booths, arts and crafts, commercial booths and more. 

National Open Class Soaring Championships

Last weekend of June.  Hosted by the Port of Ephrata.

July

Basin Summer Sounds Music Festival

Third weekend in July.  If you need an excuse to dust off the dancin' shoes that haven't seen the sun since the days of disco, Basin Summer Sounds, the Premier Music Festival of Grant County, gives you that chance!  Come join us for great food, better drink and the best music!  The festival celebrates a wide variety of music so there will be something for everyone to enjoy.  If you're just cruisin' through or have lived here all your life, come spend some time with us, we'll share the tunes, the eats, the drink and the memories. Activities include food vendors, Beer & Wine Garden, music workshops for kids, kids activities and a 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. Parkingis free and there is easy handicap access, .  Held in downtown Ephrata: Main Stage – Historical Grant County Courthouse, 35 C St NW, second venue – Basin Rock Park Plaza, 36 Basin St NW.  Music is free. Kids activities are available at a minimal cost (wristband purchase). Kids music workshops are $10. Music runs Friday from 6-11 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Kids activities run on Saturday from noon-4 p.m.
